The Palomar LUX 1540

WHAT IS PALOMAR LUX 1540?

The Palomar LUX 1540 laser is a revolutionary non-invasive laser therapy designed to dramatically improve skin texture and pigmentation, including the treatment of wrinkles and fine lines, scars, brown spots, stretch marks, and melasma without significant downtime. The Palomar LUX 1540 laser combines the potency of ablative lasers with the gentle safety of non-ablative lasers to treat a variety of cosmetic conditions. They are very safe and require almost no healing time, but may involve several treatments over the course of a few months to achieve results.

BEFORE RECEIVING TREATMENT

Before receiving treatments, a required consultation is needed to assess your overall health as well as determine if Palomar LUX 1540 laser is best suited to treat your areas of concern. After a determination is made, your medical provider at Hehr Aesthetics will assess the treatment area and recommend their professional opinion for optimal results. The patient will have an opportunity to ask questions, receive a quote, and determine next steps.

PALOMAR LUX 1540 PROCEDURE

The Palomar LUX 1540 utilizes fractional resurfacing technology, where only a small fraction of the skin receives the laser light. Thousands of tiny but deep columns of laser energy are produced. This eliminates old surface pigment and penetrates deep into the skin, intensively restoring the skin’s previous appearance. Around these microscopic treatment zones, the surrounding tissue is unaffected and intact. This allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire area were treated at once, using the body’s natural healing process to create new, healthy tighter tissue. The laser’s deep penetrating beams also stimulate collagen production in the skin which rejuvenates the skin from the inside, smoothing the appearance of wrinkles and scars.

POST-TREATMENT INFORMATION

During the first 24 hours after treatment, the skin may feel mildly sunburned, sensitive, and somewhat swollen. Over the next few days, the skin may appear slightly bronzed, which can be easily covered with makeup. There may be some flaking as well, which can be improved by using a moisturizer.
